Abunza and Search Engine Optimization
SEO defined in my own words are the techniques used to gain more notice for your web site, blog, articles and videos on all of the major search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN. I just mentioned those four because that is what I am utilizing presently to attract free leads and traffic.
People surf the Internet 24 hours per day. When an Internet surfer locates a website it is through search engines. The goals for Online Internet Marketers is to obtain or select a high ranking keyword that will land our sites on the first page or 1-10 in the search engines. This considered a quality ranking when your video can be found on the first page. This is an awesome way to pull traffic to your site. Once you have the a quality ranking it is so much easier to pull traffic to your site and it is like have free promotion 24 hours per day, 7 days per week for 365 days in the year.
SEO, how do we become SEO friendly?
A few elements from my understanding are:
The age of your domain
New content and appropriate. Make sure your content is fresh and updated regularly.
Flash multimedia has it going on and I love it personally, however it is not SEO friendly. Can you believe that basic, simple and pure in nature can really help you in this day and age. For those of you who are using a flash presentation for your first page, I read that this can be a barrier. Just keep it in mind.
Meta tags – remember I am no technological “technie” but Meta tags are invisible tags put in by search engines to categorize your website, blog, etc.. content.
Heading tags – okay when you use heading tags you should use (h1) and put it on the headline or most relevant element of your page. Also write the tags because the need be written on the keywords that you think users will be looking for which in turn will lead traffic to your site. (FYI-check out SEO Playground because you can type in keywords and it will show you how many people look up a specific keyword each month.)
Lastly, Site maps – A site map is a link by link or itemized breakdown of your site. Site maps help search engine “spiders” move around and throughout your site and index each separate page.
